JOB REALITY · REMOTE JOB SEARCH
Before you trust a remote job listing, check the posting.
Remote work opens up more opportunities—but it can also make it harder to tell whether a listing, recruiter, or application link deserves a closer look.
Use the evidence available, not a guess.
Job Reality reviews a job URL against available public job records, employer-site references, posting-age information, explicit closed or expired signals, and prior observations when the source provides enough information. Coverage varies by source.
What to verify before applying
- Can you find the same role on the employer’s official careers site?
- Does the application destination match the employer or its hiring platform?
- Are posting dates, role details, and any closed or expired signals consistent?
- Can you confirm recruiter contact details independently?
A warning sign is a reason to investigate, not automatic proof of fraud. Never pay to obtain a job or deposit a check and send money back.
