JOB REALITY · FREE JOB CHECKER

Free Job Scam & Ghost Job Checker

Before you apply, check what can be verified about the job posting. Job Reality reviews available evidence and risk signals to help you choose APPLY, VERIFY, or SKIP.

Five free job checks each month. No payment details required.

Job scams and ghost jobs are not the same thing. A scam may try to obtain money or sensitive information; a ghost or stale listing may remain visible when hiring has slowed, changed, or ended. Signals can overlap, but no single sign proves a posting is fraudulent or that an employer is not hiring.

What Job Reality reviews

  • Available public job records and employer-site references.
  • Posting-age information and explicit closed or expired signals, when provided by the source.
  • Prior observations of the same posting when enough history is available.
  • The reasons behind the recommendation, so you can judge what to verify next.

Coverage varies by source. Some job boards limit what can be checked from a link, and no automated checker can detect every scam or guarantee that a vacancy is still open.

How to check a job posting

  1. Copy the URL for the job listing. When possible, find the role on the employer's official careers site.
  2. Paste the URL into Job Reality and run the free check.
  3. Read the recommendation and the available evidence—not just the label.
  4. Verify the employer and recruiter independently before sharing sensitive information or making decisions.

Warning signs worth checking independently

  • Someone asks you to pay to get hired or to deposit a check and send money back.
  • The recruiter pressures you to provide banking or identity information before you can verify the employer.
  • The job cannot be found on the employer's official careers site, or the application link leads to an unrelated destination.
  • The posting repeatedly reappears, has inconsistent details, or looks unusually old. These are reasons to investigate, not proof by themselves.
